Buck-Eyed Jim 1. Way down yonder in a hollow log A jaybird danced with an ol' bullfrog. Chorus: Buck-eyed Jim, you can't go Go weave and spin, you can't go Buck-eyed Jim 2. Way up yonder above the moon A jaybird lived in a silver spoon. 3. Way down yonder in a wooden trough An old woman died of the whoopin' cough. 4. Way up yonder above the sky A jaybird spit in a bluebird's eye. There are several variations on the lyrics to this one, sometimes even calling it “Buck-Eye Jim”. Win Stracke and Burl Ives each recorded versions, but it predates either of them and this version of the lyrics seems to be the most common.
